Delete your Drive Nation account

Drive Nation is an Android app for the car community, run by Drive Nation Society. You can delete your account and its information at any time.

In the app (straight away)

1. Open the Drive Nation app and sign in.
2. Tap Profile, then under Settings tap Delete my account.
3. Confirm it is you (sign in again), type DELETE and tap Delete my account.

Without the app (by email)

Email drivenationsociety@gmail.com from the email address of your account, with the subject "Delete my Drive Nation account". We may reply to that address to confirm it is you. We act within 30 days, and the account is then deleted in the same way as in the app.

What is deleted

• Your profile and profile picture
• Your garage: cars, number plates and car photos
• Who you follow and who you blocked
• Your comments (a comment with replies shows "Comment deleted")
• Your gallery photos
• Your RSVPs and ratings
• Your Activity entries
• Your events that are still waiting for review or were not approved
• Changes to your meets that were waiting for review
• Your reminder settings and the phones that get your notifications
• The record of when you last opened the app
• Your sign-in (removed within the hour)

What is kept, and for how long

• Meets you posted that were approved: they are public gatherings and show "Posted by a former member" (their posters are deleted 365 days after upload)
• Reports you made, and moderation records (each deleted 24 months after it was made)
• A record that your account was deleted, and when (no other details)
• Copies in our daily database backups, until they run out (within 14 days)
• If an account is banned, we keep a minimal record (the account ID and email) for as long as the ban stands, to enforce it. A banned account is deleted by email request only.
